Just a quick blast to let you know we're pretty much keeping regular hours this holiday weekend, and we're featuring some pretty special brews at the bar, in case you're looking to introduce family and friends to a little somethin' somethin' this weekend.

Twins Fridge (PLEASE NOTE: We will be CLOSED Monday -- as we usually are -- and Tuesday, and, after sending our babies off to HIGH SCHOOL, we'll be back in business on Wednesday, Sept. 4.)

Also, we wanted to remind you again about a couple special events that will be happening after the break:

Sept. 5 (Thurs.):
Brewer visit/tasting with Dewatsuru (Yamagata prefecture) @ 5:30 pm

Sept. 13 (Fri.): "Sake Session" with live Irish music (guest food vendor: Box Nature Sushi)

Have a happy, relaxing, safe, and laughter-filled Labor Day weekend, and we hope to see you down at the shop soon.

Greetings, Nomidachi!Sake Nomi Display Sign

It's been a while since we've sent out one of these official-looking newsletters, and though there are no earth-shattering developments to report in the Seattle sake world, we'd like to take this opportunity to let you know about a few events and good buys happening at the shop in the coming days.

We hope you are continuing to enjoy the summer, and we look forward to catching up with you on your next visit to your Seattle sake oasis.

Echoing Mark Twain's (incorrectly attributed) sentiments about San Francisco in the summer, we're happy to have returned from the coldest winter camping ever in July in Port Angeles.  Beautiful, to be sure, but downright frosty, and we were pretty ill-prepared to face it.  We did have the presence of mind to pack enough sake, but some atsukan (warm sake) was probably in order, and we didn't think to bring a heating vessel -- in frickin' July!

At any rate, though it doesn't really merit a full-blown newsletter, there are some cool things going on down in Pioneer Square and at the shop this weekend, and we wanted to give you a quick heads up.

Tonight, August 1:  First Thursday ArtWalk & Alleypalooza
Though the ArtWalk is a monthly thing, this Alleypalooza is a really cool concept that is one night only.  Check it out!

Fri.- Sun., August 2-4: Limited Bottling Summer Release Namazake Sake Tasting
Along with our "normal" weekly menu (which is pretty spectacular),we're continuing to "pour 'em while we've got 'em" -- the Tsukasa Reikanewest batch of summer "seasonal release" unpasteurized namazake, that is.  Featured sake include Otokoyama (Man's Mountain) in a can, a dry (SMV: +7) nama from Tsukasabotan, (of which only 1500 bottles were produced), and the super savory Dewanoyuki Tokubetsu Junmai Nama Genshu.  They're only here for a short while, so please don't miss out!

Thanks for reading, and we hope to see you at the shop soon.
