Here's quick mention of a few things going on at Sak Nomi in the coming days:

Tuesday (12/17):
New Menu
This week's delicious and fascinating selections include a new junmai from Miyasaka (makers of Masumi), a very tokubetsu ("special") junmai from British brewmaster, Philip Harper, and a junmai daiginjo produced by the shizuku ("drip") pressing method.  Just to mention a few -- the others aren't at all shabby either -- and we think this is called a "teaser."  So, consider yourself teased.

Wednesday (12/18): Wii Wednesday
Still playing, after all these years.

Thursday (12/19):
"Sounds of Sake" @ 7 pm
Please join us for a special screening of the recently aired PBS "American Masters" episode celebrating Seattle's favorite son, Jimi Hendrix, entitled, Hear My Train A Comin'.

Friday (12/20): New Sake Arrival
Finally, the 1-liter version of the Kikusui Funaguchi Ichiban Shibori "pocket rocket!"

As mentioned in previous newsletters, the original 200 ml version was introduced 40 years ago as the first Kikusui Nama Cannamazake (unpasteurized sake) available outside the brewery and was an instant and enduring hit.  It's come to be lovingly known by Sak Nomi nomidachi as "the pocket rocket," because of the powerful contents (19% alcohol) in the compact package.

Now available in the US for the first time, we will be carrying the gargantuan 1-liter version of this can (imagine the 1-liter Asahi beer can, but full of delicious premium Niigata nama goodness).  Temporary nickname: Weapon of Mass Inebriation (WMI).  Price: $50/1-liter can

For "early adapters," we are still offering our normal 6-bottle "case" discount of 10% for any order of 3 or more cans.  While we will do our best to stock this product year-round, the best way to ensure you can nab one is to get your order in ASAP -- no later than noon Thursday, 12/19.  To reserve your cans, please contact us at info@sakenomi.us or via phone at 206-467-7253.

Friday- Sunday (12/20-22): New Sake Tasting
Featuring 3 outstanding new-to-Washington brews.

(Please note: We will be open Sunday, 12/22 at our regularly scheduled hours of Noon- 6 pm.  Yes, the Seahawks are playing at home that day, and yes, you can enjoy premium sake (and Japanese microbrew beers, for that matter) with your football in the comfy environs of your Seattle sake oasis.)  Go 'Hawks!

Holiday Hours Next Week
Though we will be closed on Monday (12/23) and Wednesday (12/25), we will be open our normal hours the rest of the week:
Tues., Thurs.- Sat.: 2-10 pm
Sun.: Noon- 6 pm.

Here's quick mention of a few things going on at Sak Nomi this week:

Tuesday (12/3):
New Menu
As is our custom, Tuesday's the day we revise the glass pour menu, and this week's includes some personal favorites, as well as a fairly rare example of an aged (3 years) junmai daiginjo.

Wednesday (12/4): Wii Wednesday
Not to be snarky, but which word is unclear?

Thursday (12/5):
"First Thursday" ArtWalk
Come check out "the scene," and support local Seattle artists, and treat yourself to some artisanal sake, while you're at it.

Friday (12/6): Revised hours: 2- 7 pm
We're hosting a private gathering from 7 pm, but please feel free to drop by beforehand and do the TGIF thing correctly.

Saturday (12/7):
Revised hours/Sale/New Sake Tasting
Due to a previous commitment, our hours of operation this Saturday will be Noon- 4 pm.

However, in that short time period, we've got some nice things going on, including:

Sake Nomi apparel and accessories sale: Buy one item and get any additional identical items at 10% off.

Cedar River Junmai:  We're pleased to introduce Cedar River's latest, locally produced (right here, in Seattle!!) sake, and will be offering it for sale by the bottle or by the glass.

Sunday (12/8):
SN apparel and accessories sale/Cedar River Junmai
We'll be open our normal Sunday hours (Noon- 6 pm), so come on down and cheer the Seahawks on and reap the benefits of our continued sale, while enjoying a glass or two of the good stuff.

Thanks very much for reading, and we hope to see you again soon!
