March 2025

March 12

Greetings, Nomidachi!

We hope you’re keeping well and ready to spring forward with us in welcoming the year’s first spring seasonal release namazake.

We have a couple cases of each of the selections below in our distributor’s refrigerated warehouse, and would like to liberate them as soon as possible.

We have reordered sake we enjoyed in the past, and we’re very excited to introduce some new-to-Washington brews, too.

Check out the notes and please let us know by Monday, March 17 if you’re interested in ordering a few. Prices are listed below, and the 10% “case” discount continues to be valid for purchases of 6 or more bottles.

If you have any questions regarding these or any of our other premium sake offerings, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

As ever, thank you so much for your kind patronage, support, and friendship. We appreciate you and hope to catch up in person at Saké Nomi soon!

Gokyo Arabashiri “First Run” Junmai Nama Genshu (Yamaguchi)
Tart, young fruit flavors of pear and apple.  Soft mouthfeel is in pleasant contrast to solid acidity and slightly bitter notes in the finish.  The brewery, Sakai Shuzo, was established in 1871.  $60/720 ml bottle

Harushika “Spring Deer” Shiboribana
Junmai Ginjo (Nara)
Slight yellow tint, with essence of strawberry and gardenia.  Clean and vaguely citrus. Tingly and astringent character, with mineral notes in the somewhat dry finish. $50/720 ml bottle

Ichinokura Shiboritate
Tokubetsu Junmai Nama Genshu (Miyagi)
From the importer: “Refreshing aroma of melon, fresh herbs, and steamed rice. Ricey umami, with the sweetness of pound cake and the refined acidity of raspberries, is well harmonized with slight astringency in the short finish.”
$60/720 ml bottle

Kamikokoro Toukagen Shiboritate
Junmai Ginjo Nama Genshu (Okayama)
Pronounced golden hue, with notes of white, sweet peaches in the nose. Rich sweetness gives way to cinnamon-tinged spiciness riding on a pleasant viscosity. This nama genshu (unpasteurized and undiluted sake) is brewed with a yeast cultivated from white peaches. Kamikokoro means “heart of the gods.”
$55/720 ml bottle

Koshinohomare 90 Yellow
Junmai Muroka Nama Genshu (Niigata)
From the importer: “Juicy aroma of white peach and pear, with mild aroma of koji. Rich umami savory flavor and sweet taste of cotton candy from the rice. Full-bodied and complex.” $55/720 ml bottle

Narutotai Shiboritate
Junmai Nama Genshu (Tokushima)
From the importer: “Refreshing fruity aroma of apples and grapes. Refreshing mild fruity taste with soft acidity and slight umami of rice in the aftertaste.” Brewed by the crew that brings us Saké Nomi favorite, "the Oil Can."
$60/720 ml bottle
