We hope you will join us in welcoming representatives from some of our favorite breweries for a special tasting event on Saturday, May 31 from 5:00 pm.

The featured breweries share CENTURIES of brewing history between them and we are honored to have been carrying some of their products since we opened back in 2007.

This event will be an opportunity for you to engage with the brewers and, while raising a glass or two, share your valued feedback.

So, to recap:

Newly Available Saké Nomi Faves
Don't miss these exceptional brews--in new formats and by popular demand!

We're excited to let you know about a couple Sake Nomi faves that have become newly available. Check it out:

Dassai “39” Junmai Daiginjo
Most everyone is familiar with the Dassai series of sake that uses the rice milling rate in the name (currently, from Japan, 45%, 39%, and 23%).

Our notes on Dassai “39”: "Fine golden green tint. Tropical, candied fruit aroma, with hints of brown sugar. Soft, full, round mouthfeel, with a suggestion of anise. Perfectly balanced, with a dry, clean finish."

Dassai is a pioneer in ultra fine sake rice milling, and they’ve spent years building the infrastructure to move their sake in foreign markets, so the name is becoming well known, but at the same time, the quality is being overlooked and taken for granted.

In the “number series” mentioned above, we feel like the “39” is kind of the sweet spot as far as rice milling and a full-flavored profile is concerned. The EXTREMELY GOOD NEWS is that the freshness and quality of the sake is now available in the 1.8 Liter “isshobin” format. This 1.8L bottle is retailing for $95 now, so it’s the equivalent of two and a half 720 ml bottles for under $100. We think it’s an outstanding value, and are glad to be able to offer it at that price, and will continue to do so until the theoretical tariffs become a reality (let’s hope the tariff thing never becomes a reality).

So, if you’re interested in buying any of the Dassai 39 in the “big boy” bottle, please let us know. If you order by this Friday, May 23, we can have it available for you to pick up at the shop May 27-30. We've already sold a case of 6 bottles to a very thirsty friend at a 10% discount, and we'll be glad to hook you up, too!

The return of Kameizumi “Eternal Spring” Junmai Ginjo Nama Genshu
We've mentioned before how this is technically a spring seasonal release, but our distributor does their best to make it available to us throughout the year. After us draining them dry, they’ve finally got new fresh stock available and we will bring some in to sell retail and also have available to serve by the glass at the bar. Our notes and pricing info:

"With its abundantly fruity, almost perfumed nose of banana, strawberry, caramelized pear, and candied fruit, this sake boldly announces the presence of famed CEL-24 yeast right from the start. The acidity perfectly balances the sweetness and allows one to enjoy the harmony of the flavors and aromas. Its delicate mouthfeel and slightly lower (14%) ABV makes it just right for 'session sipping.’"

PRICE: $55/720 ml bottle
ETA: May 27-30
